The seed for our retirement plans started in 1993 courtesy of a customer at a BP gas station in Dover, Delaware when we saw the inside of our first RV. For a week straight we talked about how roomy and beautiful it was. The following weekend we visited an RV Dealer in Pennsylvania and looked at several units on their lot for floorplan ideas.

Having been fortunate to travel the world and visit most American major cities during our working years but not seeing much of middle America, knowing that we really enjoyed meeting new people and visiting new places but didn't want the time demands of a house limiting us, we began to understand what we wanted to do in retirement!

Both of us retired in 1997, sold our house, gave away the furniture to the kids and began selling our "stuff" on E-Bay. What a great tool for prospective full time RVrs downsizing that website is! In late 1997, we attended a Life On Wheels 5 day seminar in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. WOW - there was so much to learn about this new lifestyle.

In the spring of 1998 we purchased our first RV, a three month old 1998 40' Travel Supreme fifth wheel from Wilkins RV in Hornell, NY and placed an order for a new 1999 Ford F-450 diesel with a Fontaine bed in September with a delivery scheduled for March of 1999. We were on our way!
